A coworker of mine, let's call him Onion to protect his anonymity, read this story on the internet about people growing beards during the recession. So it was instantly decided we should grow "recession beards". And so the "The Super Macho Tough Man Recession Charity Beard Competition" was born.
The goal is simple: grow the biggest thickest beard you can (starting Monday February 23rd and ending on Wednesday April 15th).
In the process get people to sponsor (or wish upon) your beard. Everyone wins. Those of us in the contest grow thick lustrious beards that we can be proud of, our sponsors can feel good about giving to a good cause and the Make-a-Wish Foundation wins because it makes wishes comes true for some well derserving kids.
As a part of the competition I, Brendan Caffrey, am growing a beard. And I need your support.
